Associate, Treasury and Accounting 

Accountabilities - The Successful Candidate will:
  • Report to the Treasury Manager, maintaining fund operations and risk management functions within the organization.

  • Provide support to the Treasury Manager, Asset & Liability Committee (ALCO) members with actionable insight to make informed, risk-based decisions

  • Periodically perform financial market research and analysis on comparison data of other financial institutions

  • Prepare and submit reports to the Treasury Manager, ALCO, Shinhan Bank Korea, and regulatory bodies as required

  • Communicate with internal and external business partners – i.e. other financial institutions and  affiliates

  • Complete the necessary approval documents – i.e. waive fees, special rates for foreign exchange and interest rates

  • Perform daily fund transactions – i.e. FX, call loans/money, borrowings

  • Measure levels of risk as mandated and prescribed by regulatory requirements and SHBC policies and guidelines

  • Post foreign exchange and fund transfer pricing rates

  • Monitor NOSTRO balance, SWIFT messages and CHQ collections

  • Manage inquiries from the SHBC Branch network and business units

 

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
  • Strong research skills with demonstrated analytical thinking to solve complex problems and provide solutions

  • Attention to detail and demonstrated skills to effectively organize and prioritize work volumes

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications – I.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint

  • Experience documenting policy, guidelines, processes and procedures

  • Flexibility to withstand unpredictable changes to schedules and deadlines

  • Background in business, accounting, economics, finance, or risk management

  • Bachelor’s Degree – Business, Accounting, Finance, Commerce preferred

  • Experience in financial services or financial sector, preferred

  • Proficiency in Korean and English language; both speaking and written
