Administrator, Business Operations

Primary Purpose of the Role

The Administrator, Business Operations is responsible for operating and managing bank’s centralized business operations, payment processing, channel management, support for back office and etc. in a secure and effective way to achieve business operations goals and is primarily responsible for trace and resolve exceptions of business operations pursuant to the SBC policy and procedures. Business Operations team is seeking a dynamic team member, eager to take on new challenges and drive innovation in a rapidly evolving environment. As a key member of our team, you will be instrumental in identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to enhance operational efficiency. 

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities 

  • Monitor and report daily payment processing result including EFT, Cheque Clearing, Bill Payment, e-mail transfer according to the bank’s business operations manual
  • Operate remittance incoming/transfer and cheque imaging verifications and deliver to Symcor
  • Handle reject/return items requested from EFT In/Outward or Cheque Clearing considering branch confirmation
  • Monitor and operate GIC wholesale payment and supporting Treasury back office
  • Ensure that the tracking system is updated and outstated items are followed up on
  • Support claims and investigations regarding business operations
  • Respond in a timely manner to service issues and requests
  • Provide support to test or implement services/systems related to business operations as required
  • Effect continuous quality and productivity improvements.
  • Conduct continuous research and analysis to identify opportunities for process improvement
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented innovative solutions
  • Contribute to the development of best practices and standard operating procedures within the department

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in realted fields
  • 1-2 year of experience
  • Understanding of technology anbd business domain knowledge
  • Strong customer orientation
  • Attention to detail and a technical, logical thought process and problem-solving skills
  • Organized and ability to multi-task
  • An ability to meet strict deadlines and prioritze
  • Excellent English verbal/written communications skills
  • MS Office
