Associate, Commercial Mortgage

The Associate, Commercial Mortgage, will report directly to the Manager, CAA and assist commercial mortgage underwriting and adjudication by analyzing new and existing loans.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Support in reviewing commercial mortgage applications: support periodic credit rating assessment, communicate with branch staff and prepare analysis opinion
  • Analyze financial data and relevant loan documents to ensure accuracy and completeness for credit rating, renew, and other loan related applications
  • Support in recommending decision on Commercial Mortgage applications to approval authority
  • Assist underwriters in the preparation and submission of loan committee presentation
  • Coordinate and document Head Office approvals
  • Research market environment in order to adjust the on-going market changes
  • Support in reviewing new appraiser or broker applications and request approval for registration on the Bank’s list
  • Perform and co-ordinate the department’s reports, assignments, and projects
  • Other duties as required by Department

Education Requirments

Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in Business or Finance; or equivalent experience in financial services or a related field

Work Experience Requirements

  • 3-5 years of work experience preferred, ideally in Canadian financial institution
  • Previous experience in Credit underwriting and adjudication related field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and ensure high quality of work
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal, written communications skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
