Associate, Credit Planning

The Credit Planning Associate provides administrative and analytical support to the Credit Planning department in the planning and execution of loan products, policies and guidelines. This position assists in the administration, reporting and research of products and services in the market/financial services industry. Reporting to the Manager II, Credit Planning, this individual will support the collection, consolidation and analysis of specific Shinhan Bank business analysis (i.e. data sets on client, product and segment profitability, activity-based processes, revenues and cost drivers). S/he is also responsible for performing quality control checks on lending applications.

Roles & Responsibilities

· Monitor the marketplace for changes in the industry and assist in the research, development and implementation of new loan products and services

· Support the review of mortgage loan policies, procedures, services, products and documentation in compliance with regulations and policies

· Draft or assist with written reports to senior management, parent bank, regulators and board of directors

· Perform quality control on lending applications by checking policy adherence and data input quality

· Support the Credit Planning team in researching and developing or new lending products

· Support the Credit Planning team to implement changes in the internal banking system for new products and services, data aggregation, reporting and improvement of existing lending processes

· Provide training/guidance to branches and Credit Analysis & Adjudication regarding bank’s products, policies or procedures

· Support the Credit Planning team to improve efficiencies, identify and remedy issues and enhance effectiveness of assigned functions

· Responsible for the administration needs of the department

· Responsibilities may also include special project supports

Skills & Qualifications

· 1-2 years of experience; in the financial service industry is considered an asset

· Direct credit experience in banking/financial services industry is preferred

· Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications – i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint 

· Extreme attention to detail

· Strong communication skills (verbal, written and presentation)

· Demonstrated time management and multi-tasking skills to meet deadlines

· Ability to analyze, evaluate and provide meaningful insights

· Proven ability to work well with others

· Bilingual in Korean and English

· Legally eligible to work in Canada
