Senior Risk Analyst

The Senior Risk Analyst will report directly to the VP, Risk Management (Chief Risk Officer) and be responsible for maintaining an independent risk management function within the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the CRO and Risk Management Committee (RMC) with actionable insights to make informed, risk-based decisions
  • Prepare and submit reports to the CRO, senior management, RMC, Parent bank and support Risk Managers on regulatory reporting
  • Present findings and analysis results to the CRO and Senior Management as needed
  • Perform periodic risk assessments and monitor internal controls related to outsourcing risk (materiality assessment, periodic review, validating onboarding/offboarding process)
  • Assist the Risk Managers in reviewing and validating the Business Impact Analysis (BIA), Risk Assessment (RA), and Mission Critical Activities (MCAs) for the Bank’s Business Continuity Plan (BCP)
  • Periodically maintain risk related policies and guidelines as well as related banking system
  • Update and stay informed of regulatory requirements as well as Bank’s policies and guidelines
  • Perform monitoring and reporting issues and findings in cybersecurity
  • Conduct risk reviews of new product, service, and business expansion proposals as a part of change management
  • Coordinate the Ethidex management for the Risk Management Function
  • Support to draft management responses (i.e., IA and Compliance) for the CRO
  • Organize the Risk Management Committee Book and draft RMC minutes each quarter
  • Support the Risk Management Unit to manage the operational risk issue log
  • Support the Risk Management Department’s internal workshop
  • Work with business units to understand business, drivers, concerns, future plans and offer support to mitigate risk

Skills & Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experiences in financial service industry is considered an asset
  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance or risk management preferred
  • Strong research and communication skills
  • Demonstrated analytical thinking to solve complex problems
  • Strong time management and ability to handle multiple projects
  • Excellent documentation skills related to policies/guidelines/procedures/manuals
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to prioritize and ensure high quality of work
  • Strong attention to detail
  • CPA designation or FRM, or in pursuit of any equivalent designation, is preferred
