Analyst, Treasury

As an Analyst, you will join Shinhan’s Treasury & Accounting team to provide support to a team delivering finance and treasury strategy and operations for the Bank. The individual is a key member of the team with the responsibility for performing a range of day to day general accounting or financial reporting operational activities in support of the Bank’s business. The successful candidate will provide service and administrative support for the Treasury and Accounting teams and have the opportunity to work in a globally recognized Bank.

Responsibilities:

Liquidity Risk Management and ALM Management

  • Prepare OSFI reports: LR, BIS Ratio, LCR, NCCF, LAM
  • Conduct liquidity stress test and report to the parent Bank.
  • Adhere to the policies, guidelines and manuals related to Treasury.
  • Meeting support: preparation for ALCO/ BOD meeting.
  • Prepare reports required by parent bank.

Treasury Operation

  • FX rate and FTP/ OIS rate posting, FTP system maintenance.
  • FX Position management.
  • Swift message coordination.
  • Exchange rate and interest rate log management.
  • FX trade operation (FX/ SWAP, GIC, Overnight deposits, Call Loan).
  • Cheque collection management.
  • Support the branch staffs and resolve any inquiries, investigation or notice.
  • Financial market research and compare data of financial institutions.
  • Financial report preparation: daily/ weekly fund report.
  • Communication with parent bank and Canadian local banks.
  • Project support on new deposit product plan and promotions.

Education Requirements:

– Bachelor’s degree in business related fields with an emphasis or accounting, or equivalent combination of education.

Work Experience Requirements

  • 3-5 yrs of relevant experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong computer skills and advanced excel skills are a must.
  • Good organizational and communication skills to manage workload, communicate with teams and effective assist.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles.
  • Great organizational skills, ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Remains flexible to withstand unpredictable changes to schedules and deadlines.
